Chloe Guidry, CSTR, CAISS

Chloe is a graduate research assistant at the Louisiana Center for Health Innovation (LCHI), supporting the team with multiple ongoing cancer- and trauma-related research projects as well as workforce development initiatives such as the Training & Experiential Learning in Biomedical Informatics (TExBioMed) Summer Institute. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Psychology as well as a graduate certificate in Population Health at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL).

Chloe’s thesis research, under the direction of Dr. Erika Caramillo-Hatch, utilizes zebrafish as a translational model and focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, investigating the role of tau pathology in Alzheimer’s-related cognitive impairment and aggression. She has served as the lab manager for Dr. Caramillo-Hatch’s laboratory since Spring 2024 and has also served in multiple leadership roles for the University’s chapter of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society for Psychology, during her tenure as a graduate student within the Department of Psychology.

Outside of academia, Chloe works as a trauma center registrar and is one of less than five dual-certified specialists in both trauma registries (CSTR) and the Abbreviated Injury Scale (CAISS), an anatomical-based coding system used for describing and classifying traumatic injuries, within the state of Louisiana. Upon graduating from ULL, Chloe aspires to gain admittance to a doctoral program to earn a Ph.D. and contribute to research on the epidemiology of traumatic injuries, injury prevention initiatives, and improving trauma systems accessibility. She also hopes to serve as a mentor for junior trauma professionals beginning their work as registrars.
