LCHI Contributes to Campus-Wide Student Mental Health Initiative

The Louisiana Center for Health Innovation is contributing to UL Lafayette’s ongoing campus-wide efforts to support student mental health and well-being.

The Bridging Awareness and Service Linkages Mental Health and Suicide Project is a four-year initiative focused on increasing awareness and connecting students with mental and behavioral health resources. The project brings together expertise from across the University, including counseling and testing, education, law enforcement, and nursing.

LCHI Director Dr. Gabriela Mustata Wilson will serve as a co-principal investigator, joining colleagues in work that includes outreach and education, behavioral health screenings, crisis and referral networks, and community partnerships.

The project builds on the work of UL Lafayette’s Mental Health Task Force, established in 2025 to identify needs, promote resources, and foster a campus culture that prioritizes mental health.

LCHI looks forward to supporting this collaborative effort and its impact across the University community.
