Chloe Guidry
Chloe is a graduate research assistant at the Louisiana Center for Health Innovation (LCHI), assisting the LCHI team on various initiatives by providing both research and clerical support. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Psychology as well as a graduate certificate in Population Health at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). Her thesis research, under the direction of Dr. Erika Caramillo-Hatch, utilizes Danio rerio (zebrafish) as a translational model and focuses on Alzheimer’s disease (AD), investigating the role of tau pathology in AD-related cognitive impairment and aggression; she also serves as the lab manager for Dr. Caramillo-Hatch's zebrafish laboratory.
Outside of academia, she works as a trauma registrar and is dual certified as a specialist in both trauma registries (CSTR) and the Abbreviated Injury Scale (CAISS), an anatomical-based coding system used for describing and classifying traumatic injuries.
Upon graduating from ULL, Chloe aspires to obtain a Ph.D. with the hope of contributing to research on neurotrauma and the role it plays in the pathogenesis of diseases such as Alzheimer's.
