Konye Brown

Konye Brown is an undergraduate student in the School of Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in Biology with a concentration in Medical and Allied Health Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. He also serves as an Assistant Community Director and is a Provisional McNair Scholar, roles that have strengthened his leadership, research readiness, and academic development.

Konye participated in LCHI’s 2025 TExBioMed Summer Institute, where he collaborated with Chloe Guidry, Sahithya Sakhamuri, and Dr. Gabriela Wilson on a research project examining the impact of workforce shortages among trauma registrars and related health professions. His work culminated in earning second place in the TExBioMed Summer Institute Final Presentation.

This experience broadened his understanding of healthcare workforce challenges and highlighted the importance of research-informed solutions to improve patient care and health system operations. Following graduation, Konye plans to pursue a Physician Assistant program, aspiring to make a meaningful contribution to clinical practice and the well-being of the communities he serves.
